Teaching girls that their appearance is the first thing you notice tells them that looks are more important than anything. My niece is 12 and she already shaves her legs, wears makeup, and dresses provocatively. I remember girls in my class who did the same thing when I was her age. I also remember my younger brother being teased for being a “faggot” when he was only 10 years old, because he had long hair. Someone beat him up. My nephew is 8 and he told me that all the boys in his class spike their hair up with hair gel, and that he gets teased because he doesn’t like to do it himself.
